James' year in review

Updated: Aug 23

Well 2020 was quite the year! There's been plenty spoken about the pandemic so I won't dwell too much on that here, though here's a photo of me getting ready to board the 24hr flight back to London from Sydney at the beginning of November:

Overall it was quite a busy year, namely on the production music front. As Movies & TV shows had to close during the peak of the pandemic, I (like a lot of composers) shifted my creative attention towards production music. I've been fortunate enough to contribute a fair amount of music to albums for 2nd Foundation Music and Arrow Production Music. It's been great getting to work with Rhiannon, Bradley and Wes (as well as all the other composers!) in creating some really high quality music over the past year, and I look forward to continuing to do so in the new year.

Here are some of the projects I contributed to in 2020 -

ARW014 - Ticking Tension

2FM056 - Soft Piano Moods

ARW015 - Rugged Drive & Innovation

ARW016 - Cinematic 80s Underscores

ARW017 - True Crime Beds: Tension & Anxiety

Paranoia (Short Film) - Dir. by Carl Smith

Looking ahead, 2021 will see the release of several more production music albums which I've finished working on, as well as several I am yet to start work on! I'm also lined up to contribute orchestrations for a variety of projects throughout the year.

On a personal note, it was really nice to spend a good amount of time in Australia with my friends and family, in what was the largest amount of time I've spent in Australia since I moved to London in September of 2016. As international travel remains uncertain in the short to medium term, I'm very thankful to God for giving me these opportunities to spend such a good amount of time with those closest to me.

Watch this space for more updates from me throughout the year, and here's to a 2021 full of great music, friends and ... vaccines.
